Visakhapatnam: A four-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped while sleeping beside her parents near Visakhapatnam railway station was rescued safely within hours, following a swift police operation. CCTV footage from the area played a crucial role in helping investigators trace the suspected kidnappers.

Girl taken while family was sleeping

The child was sleeping with her parents on a footpath near a bus stop opposite the railway station when she was allegedly taken away during the night.

The family had reportedly arrived in Visakhapatnam from Vijayawada a few days earlier and earned their livelihood by selling incense sticks to shops. When the parents realised that their daughter was missing, they immediately approached the police.

CCTV helps police track suspects

Police examined CCTV recordings from the area and found footage showing two people arriving on a scooter and taking the child away.

Investigators used the vehicle details and CCTV evidence to trace the suspects. The girl was subsequently located in the S Rayavaram area and rescued safely, bringing relief to her family.

The prompt response highlighted the importance of CCTV surveillance and quick police coordination in cases involving missing children.
