Student’s death shocks local community
A 14-year-old boy, Pughazhenthi, a resident of Tankmed, Santhanpara in Idukki district, was found dead at his aunt’s house on Friday. The incident has shocked the community and the school where he studied.
He was a Class 8 student at Fathima Matha School, Chinnakkanal, and was reportedly spending time at his relative’s home when the tragedy occurred.
Police begin investigation
The Santhanpara Police reached the site soon after being informed and conducted preliminary procedures. Officers registered a case of unnatural death and stated that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the boy’s demise.
Police officials said that statements will be collected from family members and others who were present in the house at the time.
School authorities express grief
Teachers at Fathima Matha School expressed deep sorrow at the loss of a young student. Staff members said counselling support would be offered to classmates shaken by the news.
