Guna: A disturbing incident at a government-run primary school in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district has triggered an official investigation after two Class 5 girls allegedly claimed that a male classmate made them drink urine from a water bottle.

The incident reportedly took place on Monday at a school in the Aron development block. The girls allegedly approached the principal after the incident, but officials said he responded insensitively and told them to eat a Rs 10 chocolate if their mouths tasted bad.

Authorities order investigation

Guna District Magistrate Kishore Kumar Kanyal said the allegations had been taken seriously and an investigation had been ordered. A notice has been issued to the school principal, while the Block Education Officer (BEO) has been directed to submit a report within two days.

Officials have also summoned the accused student and his parents. Authorities suspect that other male students may have been involved and are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manjusha Khatri said the Tehsildar and BEO were sent to the school after receiving information about the allegations.

Families demand strict action

The incident sparked anger among the families of the two girls and local villagers. On Tuesday, they gathered at the school, raised slogans demanding strict action and reportedly locked the campus.

As the situation escalated, administrative officials arrived with a heavy police presence. Statements were recorded from the two girls, their families and the students accused of involvement.

The authorities are expected to determine responsibility after the investigation. The incident has also raised concerns over the safety of children at school and the manner in which complaints from young students are handled.

Focus turns to accountability

Officials said strict action would be considered based on the investigation report. The case has highlighted the need for schools to respond sensitively and promptly when children report incidents involving humiliation, intimidation or mistreatment.
