The upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, set to commence on July 22 and conclude on August 12, will see the introduction of six new bills, as announced in the Parliament bulletin issued by the Lok Sabha secretariat. Among these bills is a proposal to amend the disaster management law. Additionally, the government has listed the Finance Bill and the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024, which aims to replace the Aircraft Act of 1934 to facilitate smoother operations in the civil aviation sector.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the Union Budget on Tuesday, July 23. Other bills slated for introduction and passage during this session include The Boilers Bill, which aims to replace a pre-independence era law, along with the Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill and the Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill.
In preparation for the session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has formed the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to determine the parliamentary agenda. The committee, chaired by the Speaker, includes members from various political parties such as TMC, BJP, Congress, TDP, JD-U, DMK, Shiv Sena-UBT, and SP.
