Rajanna Siricilla: Question papers from the Telangana Group-III recruitment examination have reportedly been found being used as paper plates at a bakery in Rajanna Siricilla district, raising questions over the handling and disposal of examination material.
The Group-III examination was conducted in 2024 for recruitment to 1,363 government posts, with the hiring process concluding in 2025. According to reports, visitors to a bakery noticed that paper plates used to serve snacks appeared to have been made from the examination question papers.
Photographs of the plates were subsequently shared on social media and went viral on Wednesday.
Question papers surface at tea stall too
Similar photographs reportedly emerged from a tea stall in Ashok Nagar, an area known as a hub for competitive examination coaching. The papers seen in the photographs do not appear to have come from a single candidate, as different codes are visible on them.
One paper reportedly carries a code ending in 30, while another ends in 32.
Questions raised over disposal process
As per the rules cited in the report, question papers are required to be destroyed or shredded following due procedure after an examination. The discovery has therefore raised questions over how bulk quantities of examination papers are stored after tests and how they are eventually disposed of.
It is also unclear from the available information how the question papers reached the bakery in Rajanna Siricilla district.
Incident recalls earlier OMR sheet discovery
The development comes amid concerns following another incident in Telangana. About a month earlier, a large number of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets from the Hostel Welfare Officers recruitment examination were reportedly found near the PVNR Express Highway at Shivarampally.
The latest incident has renewed attention on the need for proper handling, secure storage and documented disposal of examination material.
