A disturbing incident occurred at Janakpur Road railway station in Bihar’s Pupri region, where 25-year-old Mohammad Furqan was critically injured after being severely beaten by GRP personnel on Thursday. Furqan, from Gadha village, had come to catch the Karmabhoomi train.
According to Live Hindustan, a video of the incident shows Furqan being carried by two men as onlookers express shock at the severe beating. Furqan was initially treated at the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Pupri and later referred to SKMCH Muzaffarpur for advanced care.
Furqan claims the GRP personnel repeatedly struck him on his abdomen, where he had undergone surgery previously. Despite informing them of his past surgery, the beating caused his stomach to rupture and his intestines to protrude.
In response to the brutal assault, angry commuters vandalized the Janakpur Road station, breaking the station master’s office’s iron grill and glass gate. Some individuals involved in the scuffle were also treated at the PHC. The reasons behind the incident remain unclear.
