The FIR against Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the leader of Dera Sacha Sauda, was rejected by the Punjab and Haryana High Court due to his comments regarding the saints Kabir Das and Ravidas. The court observed that Singh’s story appeared to respect religious feelings and beliefs and was firmly grounded on historical materials. “No evidence of malice… is discernible,” it continued. Singh is a convicted murderer and rapist.
