Madhur: In a significant cultural moment, during the ongoing Ashtabandha Brahmakalasha rituals of Madhur‘s Siddhivinayak deity, a long-awaited honor has been conferred upon Mother Madaru, a Dalit woman associated with the temple’s origins. For the first time, the original site where Lord Madananteshwara was discovered by Madaru has been officially recognized, marking the unveiling of the Madaru Mahamate Mantapa.

The structure, constructed by the Devaswom Board in Kaliyathadka — the birthplace of the Madhur deity — was inaugurated just a day before the grand Brahmakalasha festival. The dedication was performed by Sri Sachchidananda Bharathi Sripadam of Edaneeru Mutt, reinstating the historical and spiritual importance of the site.

Historically, it was at this very spot that a woman from the Mogera community, Madaru, first witnessed the stone manifestation of Madananteshwara. A small shrine of Panjurli, the deity she revered, also emerged here. Despite its deep historical ties, this sacred site had, until now, remained without a formal memorial. Years of persistent efforts by the Mogera community have finally resulted in the construction of this much-desired mantapa.

The community has also erected a grand entrance gate, funded through contributions amounting to ₹13 lakh. The inaugural ceremony saw active participation from dignitaries, including Brahmakalashotsava Committee Secretary Jayadeva Khandige, Madhur GP President Gopalakrishna, and several community leaders and supporters.

Future plans include developing a cowshed and a Nakshatravana (astrological forest) to enhance the site’s spiritual and ecological significance.
