In a recent inspection at 4 Seasons Multi-Cuisine Restaurant in Hyderabad’s Tolichowki area, a series of alarming sanitation issues were uncovered. The Telangana Food Safety Task Force conducted a check on March 5, 2025, revealing severe hygiene and storage lapses.
Among the most disturbing findings, the inspectors reported a significant cockroach infestation throughout the kitchen, with pests present in nearly every corner. Additionally, rat droppings were found in the storage area, indicating a serious rodent problem.
Several food safety failures were also observed. The refrigeration units were in poor condition, with food items improperly stored and uncovered, often lacking labels. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian products were found mixed together, violating basic food handling standards. Raw meat was also stored carelessly, increasing the risk of contamination.
The cold room’s air-conditioning unit was leaking, which posed a risk of food contamination. In the kitchen, floor drains lacked proper filters, while the floors were dirty and covered with waste. The walls were oily, and the ceiling was stained with soot. The exhaust systems were found to be clogged with grease.
The washing area was in an extremely unsanitary state, with stagnant water, blocked drains, and scattered food debris.
This inspection follows other recent checks revealing similar issues across several Hyderabad restaurants, raising serious concerns over food safety practices.
