Jay Pawar, the younger son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, shared an emotional tribute to his late father, Ajit Pawar, remembering him with grief and love days after his tragic death.

Ajit Pawar died last week in a plane crash in Baramati taluka of Pune district, an incident that sent shockwaves across Maharashtra’s political circles.

‘Miss you a lot, Dad’

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Jay Pawar shared two photographs with his father. In one image, he is seen standing beside Ajit Pawar, captioned simply yet painfully: “Miss you a lot, Dad.”

In another deeply emotional post, Jay is seen hugging his father. “Dad, I wish time had stopped. I would have hugged you tightly for my entire life,” he wrote, a line that resonated with thousands online.

Sunetra Pawar takes oath amid grief

Just three days after Ajit Pawar’s death, Sunetra Pawar was unanimously elected leader of the NCP Legislature Party and sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister, becoming the first woman to hold the post in Maharashtra.

On Monday, she paid floral tributes at the memorial of Maharashtra’s first Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan at Preetisangam Ghat in Karad — her first official visit after taking oath.

Support for families affected by crash

Sunetra Pawar later visited Taradgaon village in Phaltan tehsil of Satara district to meet the family of Vidip Jadhav, Ajit Pawar’s personal security officer who also died in the crash. Witnesses described the meeting as deeply emotional, with the Deputy Chief Minister consoling Jadhav’s wife and children.

“In any trouble, my entire family and I stand with you,” she assured the bereaved family.

The Pawar family’s public expressions of grief have drawn widespread sympathy, with many noting the strength shown amid profound personal loss.
