The Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) division of the Ministry of Education introduced several key publications at the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) 2024.
A notable release is a compilation from the Faculty Training Program for Master Trainers in IKS, conducted over the past year in partnership with the University Grants Commission (UGC). This book covers a range of topics, including IKS principles, philosophical foundations, and methods such as Tantrayukti. It also delves into subject-specific areas like Chemistry, Agriculture, Ayurveda, Mathematics, Nitishastra, Panchantra, and IPR in IKS, with contributions from 12 distinguished scholars.
Another significant publication is “Kautilya’s Arthashastra: Timeless Strategies for Modern Governance,”authored by Vinayak Rajat Bhat, Associate Professor at Chanakya University, and Tejusvi Shukla, Former Research Associate at Chanakya University. This book provides a modern interpretation of Kauṭilya’s strategies on statecraft, incorporating contemporary examples and practical applications.
“Marma Kannadi: Decoding the Human Body the Siddha Way” by Gurukkal Dr. S. Mahesh offers insights into sage Agasthya’s teachings on marmas, the vital energy centers of the human body. It explores Siddha medicine, Kalaripayattu, and Varmakalai.
Additionally, “Shodha Vijaya”examines the southern dynasties, with a special focus on the Vijayanagara Karnata Kingdom. This book includes research on diverse topics such as theatre, dance, and ancient scriptures.
