According to Ghosh, while taking a walk with his friend near their residence, a group of individuals approached them. After a brief exchange, Ghosh claimed he was physically attacked and his belongings, including his phone and wallet, were taken.
Ghosh said that attempts to seek assistance were unsuccessful, and he was reportedly questioned by local police at Shyampur station. After presenting his passport and visa, he was allowed to leave the area.
Despite initially being denied treatment at two private hospitals, Ghosh eventually received medical attention at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.
On November 30, Ghosh returned to Kolkata and filed a complaint with the Belgharia police station. He expressed disappointment over the experience, noting the shock of facing such an incident in a neighboring country.
The Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata acknowledged the incident and has assured that a fair investigation will take place.
