During the pre-flight preparations around 7:50 a.m., a crew member of flight 6E 6543 noticed a male passenger standing in the rear of the aircraft.

IndiGo addressed the situation in a statement, explaining, “There was a boarding error for the Mumbai to Varanasi route, where a standby passenger was assigned a seat reserved for a confirmed passenger.”

The issue was identified prior to departure, resulting in the standby passenger being asked to disembark, causing a slight delay. IndiGo expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to customers and stated its commitment to enhancing operational processes to prevent such incidents in the future.
