Bomb Threat

An IndiGo flight bound from Delhi to Varanasi faced a security scare today when a note mentioning a bomb threat was discovered in the lavatory just before takeoff. With 176 passengers on board, the crew swiftly evacuated everyone, adhering to safety protocols. The aircraft was guided to a remote bay, and authorities initiated thorough inspections following established security procedures.

IndiGo promptly issued a statement acknowledging the situation, stating that the flight, numbered 6E2211, received a specific bomb threat while still at Delhi airport. They reassured that all passengers were safely evacuated through emergency exits and that the aircraft was undergoing meticulous inspection. Once security checks are completed, the plane will return to its designated terminal area.

The discovery of the note occurred around 5 am, prompting swift action from both airline personnel and airport security. Fortunately, subsequent searches revealed no suspicious items.

Efforts to accommodate passengers affected by the disruption were also underway, with arrangements being made for an alternative aircraft as Varanasi-bound travelers awaited further instructions in the terminal building.

This incident follows a similar scare on May 16, when a note with the word “bomb” was found on an Air India flight headed to Vadodara. The aircraft was similarly isolated until authorities determined the threat to be a hoax.
