The investigation into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has uncovered the involvement of a family from Jaipur, with the Central Bureau of Investigation arresting six people in connection with the case.

Among those arrested are Mangilal Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, and Vikas Biwal — members of the same family from Rajasthan. Investigators believe the trio played a major role in obtaining and circulating the leaked examination paper.

Question paper allegedly bought for Rs 30 lakh

According to sources, Dinesh Biwal allegedly purchased the leaked NEET question paper between April 26 and 27 for around Rs 30 lakh. The paper was reportedly shared in digital form before being circulated among students in Sikar and other locations.

The probe revealed that Vikas Biwal, son of Dinesh, was preparing for the NEET examination and was residing in Sikar.

Investigators suspect the leaked paper was circulated using platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram, reaching nearly 700 students across multiple states.

Digital scanning and courier access under scrutiny

The National Testing Agency had cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3 following allegations of a paper leak.

Sources claimed that a courier staff member allegedly allowed around 30 minutes of unauthorised access to exam trunks. Officials suspect portable high-definition scanners were used to create digital copies of the paper during this period.

Multiple charges filed by CBI

The other arrested accused include Shubham Khairnar from Nashik and Yash Yadav from Gurugram. Another accused, identified as Dhananjay Lokhande from Maharashtra, was also produced before a court.

The CBI has registered cases under criminal conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust, the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
