Patna: Janata Dal (United) leader K C Tyagi, stated that there is significant discontent among certain voters concerning the Agniveer Scheme, prompting calls for a review of the policy.

Addressing the media, Tyagi said, “Our party believes that the identified shortcomings, which have raised public concern, need to be addressed. We do not oppose the Uniform Civil Code (UCC); in fact, the Chief Minister (Nitish Kumar) has communicated with the head of the Law Commission. It is crucial that all stakeholders, including various Chief Ministers, political parties, and different community groups, engage in a thorough discussion to resolve this issue. There are no preconditions from our side, and we extend unconditional support to the NDA.”

Congress party during Lok Sabha election had announced that they would scrap the Agniveer scheme launched by previous Modi government.
