Pune: A domestic help working in Pune has received multiple job offers after her “business card” went viral over social media, a few days ago.
It all began when the maid, Geeta Kale was dejected after losing a Rs 4,000-paying job at one of the houses in the city. Sensing her disappointment, one of Geeta’s employers, Dhanashree Shinde took it upon herself to design a professional business card for her maid.
With her experience working as a senior manager for the Branding and Marketing division of Vilas Javdekar Developers, Dhanashree was able to design a cheerful green and blue business card that comprised various services (and their monthly charges) offered by Geeta.
The incident was revealed through a Facebook post by Asmita Javdekar, another resident of the building.
In her FB post, Asmita wrote, “Within twenty-four hours, a smart business card was designed and 100 cards were printed!”
Once the cards were ready, they were distributed to the entire neighbourhood. Calling the incident an “overnight sensation”, Asmita further said, “This seemingly small step taken towards extending help catapulted into an unimaginable reaction.”
Since then, Geeta has been trying to field several job offers emerging from all across the country. “Maushi’s (Geeta) phone just hasn’t stopped ringing,” added Asmita.
The now-viral FB post has received nearly 2,300 likes and multiple comments from netizens, lauding the heart-warming story of Dhanashree and Geeta.
