In a grim turn of events in Kerala’s Kollam district, a 22-year-old college student was brutally stabbed to death, with the alleged attacker later discovered dead on a railway track, police reported on Monday.
The victim, Febin George Gomas, a student at a local college, was attacked at his residence in Uliyakovil around 7:30 PM. The assailant, identified as Thejas Raj, reportedly arrived at Gomas’ home in a car, fatally stabbed him, and then fled the scene in the same vehicle.
Later that night, Raj’s body was found on the railway tracks at Kadappakkada. Authorities suspect he died by suicide after jumping in front of a moving train. The car linked to Raj was located near the tracks, strengthening the belief that he had been on the run post the fatal attack.
Police officers stated that a thorough investigation is underway to confirm the motive behind the murder and the exact sequence of events. “Only after a detailed probe can the complete details and reasons behind the incident be confirmed,” an officer remarked.
This shocking double tragedy has left the local community shaken, as officials work to piece together the factors leading up to both deaths.
