Thiruvananthapuram: On Saturday, State Education Minister V. Sivankutty revealed that the Kerala government had initiated measures to reintegrate the content related to Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru, which had been previously removed from school textbooks.
Sivankutty stated, ‘Once classes resume after the Onam break in September, the updated textbooks will be provided to schools. It is essential for students to gain a well-rounded understanding of our history, economics, and science.
The Centre had deleted all such contents and the Pinarayi Vijayan government had earlier promised that students will be taught India in its true spirit.
Meanwhile, there are reports that even the Gujarat riots have also found a place in the history textbook.
