Thiruvananthapuram : A six-year-old girl was discovered abandoned in a city park on Tuesday, just hours after she had been abducted from the Kollam district of the state on Monday night. The kidnappers, according to the police, have not yet been located.
Approximately 100 meters from the girl’s home, at 4.30 pm on Monday, a car-borne gang abducted her. The Kerala Police have been searching for her since then. The girl and her 10-year-old older brother were abducted by the gang as they were making their way to a nearby residence to pay for their tuition.
The girl was kidnapped, and the police claim that a woman called the girl’s family hours later and demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom to free her. They subsequently discovered that the call was placed by the gang members using a trader’s phone at Parippally, Kollam.
Since Monday night, the police have searched multiple cars in an effort to find the kidnapped girl. In addition to a thorough search, cops had looked through a large number of CCTV images.
