A massive wave pulled the floating bridge that thirteen people, including two children, were standing on over, injuring them, according to authorities at Varkala beach on Saturday.
There were thirteen injured in the accident, according to a police station official in Varkala. The wave’s force also caused a handrail on the bridge to shatter.
The police stated that the Government Medical College and Mission Hospital are treating the injured.
None of the injured are in critical condition. A 14-year-old girl, however, is under observation, he added.
Due to bad weather, the officer stated that there was a high tide; normally, in these circumstances, the public is not allowed access to the floating bridge.
But, he added, it wasn’t closed this time.
Because the individuals on the floating bridge were wearing life jackets, the police indicated that they could be swiftly transported back to shore without suffering any fatalities.
They said the incident happened at approximately five o’clock.
