Vrindavan (U.P.): A heartbreaking video has surfaced online, showing a pet dog dying due to suffocation after being left alone inside a parked car in the sweltering heat of Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.
Reportedly, the dog’s owners had locked the animal inside the vehicle before heading for darshan at a nearby temple. The car was parked near Shriyad Hospital, and all windows were rolled up tightly under the scorching afternoon sun.
Eyewitnesses said they heard the pet whining and gasping for air. Although bystanders rushed to help, they were unable to unlock the vehicle because of its central locking system.
Tragically, instead of breaking the glass, the onlookers waited for a mechanic to arrive. By the time the car was finally opened, it was too late — the dog had already succumbed to heat and lack of oxygen.
A video capturing the distressing moments of the dog struggling inside the car has since gone viral, triggering widespread condemnation and sorrow across social media platforms.
Local residents claimed they had warned the family not to leave the dog behind in the closed vehicle, but their pleas were ignored.
The police have now registered a case under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Animal welfare groups and citizens alike are demanding stricter action and tougher laws against such negligent pet ownership.
This tragic incident has reignited calls for greater awareness about pet safety, especially during extreme weather.
