Hyderabad: A Dalit man in Telangana was allegedly left without a home after his house was demolished by relatives of his wife, a day after the couple reportedly married against the wishes of her family.

According to a PTI report, the man, who belongs to a Scheduled Caste community, had married the woman in a love marriage. The couple’s decision to marry allegedly angered the woman’s relatives, who are accused of demolishing the man’s house shortly after the wedding.
The incident has once again brought attention to the challenges faced by couples who choose their partners despite opposition from their families, particularly when caste differences are involved.
The reported demolition has also raised concerns over the safety and security of individuals who face hostility after choosing to marry according to their wishes.
