New Delhi: Two Congress MPs – Hibi Eden and T N Prathapan – were on Monday, November 25, suspended by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla after the Congress party staged a dramatic protest in the Well of the House in Lok Sabha against the BJP-NCP’s taking oath to form the Maharashtra government, claiming it to be the ‘murder’ of the Indian Constitution.
The Speaker took this decision as they were obstructing the proceedings of the House.
The Congress parliamentarians were seen shouting slogans and holding placards with slogans against the BJP like “Stop Horse Trading, Stop Dirty Politics”, “Save Constitution Save Democracy”, “Stop Murder of Democracy” etc.
They even put a spin on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan “Abki Baar, Modi Sarkar” with slogans saying , “Abki Baar, Beimaano Ka Sarkar” (the Hindi word ‘beimaano’ means ‘cheaters’).
According to reports, the Speaker had taken this decision because they did not apologize for their conduct in the House.
Meanwhile, the BJP has slammed the Congress party calling them ‘shameless’ and ‘unruly’.
