A railway trackman, his wife, and their two children tragically jumped in front of a moving train in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district this morning, police reported.
The incident occurred in Sihoda village, within the jurisdiction of the Bhedaghat police station, according to City Superintendent of Police Sunil Nema. The motive behind this incident remains unknown at this time.
The bodies of Narendra Chadhar, a resident of Sihoda village, his wife Reena, and their two daughters, aged 6 years and 3 months, were discovered on the railway track. Nearby, his motorcycle was found parked, Nema stated.
Initial indications suggest that the family died by suicide, though the incident is being thoroughly investigated from all possible angles. The bodies have been sent for forensic examination, Nema added.
Shankar Lal Chadhar, Narendra’s father-in-law, informed reporters that his daughter Reena had called him on Tuesday about a dispute with her mother-in-law. However, he did not take it seriously, considering it a routine family issue.
He expressed his lack of knowledge regarding what drove his son-in-law and daughter to such a drastic action, saying he learned about the tragedy in the morning.
