At a family gathering in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, a man is accused of killing his brother with an axe when the latter shut off the music and forbade him from dancing, according to police on Sunday.
Officially, Rajkumar Kol (30) has been taken into custody by the police for the murder that took place at Mauhar village, which is under the jurisdiction of Kothi police station, on Friday night.
Rajkumar’s brother Rakesh (35) had organised a function at his house, during which music was being played on a sound system, said Rupendra Rajput, in-charge of Kothi police station.
Later, the accused stated, the victim turned off the music because he wanted to keep dancing.
After the brothers got into a fight, Rajkumar allegedly assaulted Rakesh with an axe and immediately murdered him, according to the official.
According to him, the accused ran from the scene and was later found hiding next to a culvert.
The official stated that the weapon used in the incident was confiscated and the accused was placed under custody.
