The Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj concluded on Wednesday, drawing an unprecedented 66 crore devotees to the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the event as a testament to India’s cultural and spiritual strength, calling it a ‘mahayagna of unity’. Acknowledging the challenges of hosting such a massive gathering, he expressed gratitude to the people of Prayagraj, the Uttar Pradesh government, and all those involved. He also sought forgiveness for any shortcomings in arrangements.

Despite a tragic stampede that claimed 30 lives, the event became a global spectacle. PM Modi noted that modern management experts are studying the Kumbh’s scale and organization. He also highlighted the enthusiastic participation of the youth, emphasizing their role in preserving India’s traditions.

Praising CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, he said the seamless execution of the event was a collective effort of government authorities, sanitation workers, security personnel, and local residents.

Calling it “unmatched in the world,” PM Modi affirmed that Maha Kumbh 2025 has laid a strong cultural foundation for the coming centuries.
