13th annual Bunt’s sangh friendship gathering in Mumbai

Mumbai: Boasting a 96-year history, individuals who assumed leadership roles in The Bunts Association Mumbai have put in relentless efforts to foster the organization’s development. With the collaborative efforts of its members, the Sangha has undertaken diverse initiatives that have proven beneficial to society. Chandrahas K. Shetty, the president of the Buntara Sangha, expressed, “Thanks to the collective dedication of all involved, our Mumbai-based Sangha has gained global recognition for its outstanding contributions to social service.”

The 13th Annual Friendship Gathering of the Vasai-Dahanu Regional Committee of the Bunts Association, Mumbai, is scheduled for August 20th. Chandrahas K. Shetty, who presided over the event, officiated at the Karnire Sridhar Shetty Vedike and Fern Shelter Resort in Dhekhale, Palghar. He expressed his pride in the Association’s achievements, highlighting that the Powai educational institution ranks third, and the Hotel Management Institute ranks third in Mumbai. The Borivelli educational institution offers educational opportunities to approximately 3,500 children, and admissions for the next year have already commenced. To ensure that members of the Bunt community do not face helplessness, the Bunts Association has implemented various programs, including professional loans. Those who have received assistance from these initiatives have excelled and are actively contributing to the betterment of the Bunts Association in Bombay. Apart from offering medical aid, supporting widows with pensions, and providing educational assistance, we have introduced a new initiative called Family Adoption and Talent Development. I consider myself fortunate to lead this Association during a period of significant growth, thanks to the collaboration of our society’s distinguished members and generous donors. The Bunts Association Mumbai Vasai-Dahanu Regional Committee has organized today’s event on a grand scale, featuring a substantial presence of environmental and social activists. I extend my congratulations to the talented children here and commend the efforts of all committee members.
Chandrahas K. Shetty, the President of the Bunts Association, along with the Chief Guest Harish Shetty, who is also the President of the Global Bunts Associations Federation, illuminated the stage with the esteemed dignitaries present and inaugurated the program. Vijay Shetty of Moodubelle led the prayer. Harish Pandu Shetty, the Chairperson of the Vasai-Dahanu Regional Committee, warmly welcomed all the attendees who were present.
Sashidhar .K. Shetty Innanje, a renowned environmentalist, generous donor and an excellent organizer who actively addresses the struggles of the people, was honored with the prestigious title of “Outstanding Organizer.” His wife, Shashikala Shashidhar Shetty, and daughter, Srushti Shashidhar Shetty, were also present on this occasion. Additionally, Padmanabha, the former President of the Bombay Bunts Association, and S. Payyade, Jayant R. Pakkala, and Roopa Pakkala, former Vice Presidents of the Vasai Dahanu Regional Committee, along with Nivas Shetty (Paramount Health Service), the son of dedicated social worker Anand Shetty, and Nikita Shetty, were felicitated in the presence of esteemed guests. Naveen Shetty Palli, an exemplary committee member, was also recognized during this event. The felicitation letters were read out by Praveen Shetty Kananjar and Vijaya P. Shetty Kuthethur. Jaganath D. Shetty Palli, the Executive Director, provided information about the committee’s activities and the services rendered during the COVID-19 pandemic. Usha Sreedhar Shetty, the Chairperson of the Women’s Division, shared details about the activities of the Women’s Division.

Distinguished guests including Mrs. Rajani Govind Shetty (Mayor of Silvassa Municipal Corporation), eminent personalities like Mr. Tonse Anand Shetty (Director of Organic Industries Limited), Mr. Karnire Vishwanath Shetty (Vice President of International Bunts Associations), Mr. Shashidhar Shetty Baroda (Director of Shashi Catering Service Private Limited), Dr. P. V. Shetty (Chairman of Borivali Education Committee Bunts Sangha Mumbai), Mr. Ultoor Mohan Das Shetty (Chairman of Matru Bhoomi Credit Co-operative Society Limited), Mr. Praveen Bhoj Shetty (Executive Director of Matru Bhoomi Credit Co-operative Society Limited), Mr. Ravikant Shetty Ankaleshwar (Director of Hitachi Electrification Private Limited), Mr. Ajit Shetty Ankaleshwar (Director of Matashree Hospital Service), and Ms. Asha Manohar Hegde (Former Chairperson of Women’s Division, Bunts Sangha Mumbai) graced the occasion as honorary guests.

Mr. Ratnakar Shetty Mundkur, Vice Presidents of the Bunts Association, Dr. R. K. Shetty, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Harish D. Shetty, Honorary Treasurer C. A. Harish D. Shetty, along with Executive Director Mr. Indraali Divakar Shetty, and Honorary Treasurer Mr. Mundappa S. Payyade of the Western Region Committee, were honored. Mrs. Uma Krishna Shetty, Chairperson of the Women’s Division, Mr. Sagar D. Shetty, Youth Division President, Mr. Gurme Harish Shetty, Chairman of the Regional Coordination Committee, Mr. Anand Shetty, and Mr. Navin Shetty Palli, Committee’s outstanding worker, were also felicitated. In addition, the gathering included Mr. Narayan Shetty and Mr. Ratish Shetty as Deputy Honorary Treasurers, Mrs. Usha Shreedhar Shetty as Chairperson of the Women’s Division, Mr. Prakyath Shetty as Youth Division President, Mr. Supreeth Shetty Neere as Program Committee Chairman, Mrs. Jaya Ashok Shetty as Chairperson of the Education and Social Welfare Committee, and Mr. Navin Shetty Palli as Secretary of the Membership Registration Committee. Mr. Arun Shetty served as the Chairman of the Sports Committee, Mr. Tarunath Shetty as Chairman of the Marriage Registration Committee, and Mr. Dayanand B. Shetty as Chairman of the Catering Committee.

The Health Committee was chaired by Mr. Sayinath Shetty, and Mr. Ashish Shetty served as Chairman of the Information and Technology Committee. The Cultural Committee was led by Mr. Vijay P. Shetty Kuttettur, were present.
The desire program organized by the Youth Division of Mumbai Bunts Association was held. Many accolades were brought to the institution by Mr. Manisha Vasant Shetty, a member of the Youth Division of the Regional Committee, in the absence of Mr. Prithviraj Shreedhar Shetty. The presence of his mother, Mrs. Usha Shreedhar Shetty, Mr. Shweta Jagannath Shetty, and Mrs. Shravya Satish Shetty, was honored. Similarly, in the Chinnaara Chilipili program organized by the Bunts Association Mumbai and Bunts Voice, several accolades were brought to the institution by Mr. Avish Vijay Shetty, Mr. Sanvi Santosh Shetty, Mr. Araav Raveendra Shetty, Mr. Anish Satish Shetty, Mr. Ansh Ramesh Shetty, and others, who are children of committee members who worked diligently in the field of education. Mrs. Usha Shreedhar Shetty, the spouse of the late Mr. Shreedhar Shetty of Karnire, who had inspired these children in their educational pursuits, was also honored. Mr. Sairaj Balakrishna Shetty, who passed with outstanding scores in Chartered Accountancy, and Ms. Sathvik Prakash Shetty, who achieved excellent grades in IT education, were also felicitated. Dr. P. V. Shetty extended his helping hand on this occasion.

A variety of dance and cultural programs showcasing the culture of Tulunadu (a region in Karnataka) were organized by the children of the Regional Committee and the elders. V. J. Madhuraj was responsible for conducting the cultural program, and the event was diligently managed by Praveen Shetty Kandlaje and Vijay P. Shetty Kuttetturu.
Aikala Harish Shetty, President of the World Bunts Associations Federation said, the 13th Annual Friendship Conclave of the Bunt Association Mumbai Vasai-Dahanu Regional Committee is taking place at the D. Karnire Shreedhar Shetty Vedike. Witnessing the talents that have participated in this year’s cultural program brings immense joy. Each program is rooted in the culture of Tulunadu (a region in Karnataka). The presence of a large number of people in this environment is commendable.
On October 28th and 29th, the sports meet and the World Bunts Convention will be held in Udupi Ajjarakadu, and everyone should participate in these events. No matter how many organizations we have, let the common purpose and pride of being Bunts be in all of us.
Vishwanath Shetty Karnire (Vice President of the World Bunts Associations Federation) said, you are expressing gratitude by mentioning my brother’s name at today’s stage. Gratitude. When we, along with Aikala Harish Shetty, established this regional committee, the people of Vasai environment expressed their happiness, and now it has progressed significantly. The women’s division also deserves congratulations on this occasion. To benefit the underprivileged children of our society here, it is essential to establish our association’s educational institution in the Vasai-Dahanu environment.

Mrs. Rajani Govind Shetty (Former Mayor of Silvassa Municipality) said, today is a auspicious day for me. Meeting many relatives of our community here feels like being in our own Mini Mangalore. I am grateful for the love shown to me by the women here. Our community members, regardless of the field they are in, are like sugar, as they mix well with everyone, wherever they go. When I see the talents of the children, I can see all the qualities that preserve our coastal art in them. My husband is the reason behind my political growth. He is a beloved figure in the Silvassa community, and because of him, I have reached higher levels in politics.

said, as soon as the work of the Borivali Educational Institution is completed, let us make efforts to establish a new educational institution for the Vasai-Dahanu community under the banner of Bunts Sangha Mumbai. For that purpose, we need to secure a suitable location right away.
Praveen Bhoja Shetty (Executive Director, Bhumi Credit Co-Operative Society Limited) said, The institution established by our elders is nearing a hundred years, and we shall not forget the contributions of our elders. With the perspective that our community’s children should not be deprived of education, our educational institutions are doing excellent work. Our association has undertaken numerous plans, and we need to reap the benefits of these efforts, which involve spending several crores every year for the welfare of our community.
