Mumbai: Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sharad Pawar slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union Government for supporting ‘The Kashmir Files’.

He was addressing the NCP workers on Sunday April 10. Pawar claimed that efforts are being made to create a religious unrest in society. When fuel costs and inflation reach excessive levels, efforts are made to distract people’s attention away from ‘just and legitimate issues,’ said the NCP leader.

Speaking about The Kashmiri Files, he said that a man made a movie (The Kashmir Files) showing atrocities on Hindus. It depicted how the majority always attacks the minority, and how the Hindu community becomes insecure when the majority is Muslim.

Pawar went on to say that a planned conspiracy is currently underway to create this insecurity. Unfortunately, those in power in the country have urged citizens to watch this film. He also said that The BJP can’t deny it is to blame for the attacks on Kashmiri Pandits. A rift is developing between Hindus and Muslims, which is quite concerning.

In response to these remarks, the Director of The Kashmiri Files Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri tweeted, “The man’s name is Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. Who met you few days ago in the plane, touched your and your wife’s feet and you blessed him and his wife and congratulated them for making a brilliant film on Kashmiri Hindu Genocide.”

Twitter users didn’t leave a chance to react on the same. “The more he speaks the more exposed of his mindset. He should better take other tasks on hand rather than such act,” said one Twitter user.

“Destroyed in seconds. Showed the double standards of our politicians who doesn’t have the guts to say the truth in public,” stated a user.

Few even commented saying that the intention behind Pawar’s statement is for vote bank.

“These are the double standard people, different face for public with political interests,” commented another Twitter user.

“That’s behind the camera and this is in front of the camera. Pro-Hindu behind and pro-minority in front of cameras. He can beat Chameleon hands down,” was a user’s reaction.

A user tweeted saying, “See no one is an enemy in politics, They just show up like that. They are the different sides of the same coin.”

Meanwhile another user said that this tweet shows us that you’re well backed up and yes well-made and brilliant PR propaganda movie which has divided the country for goodness.
