Mumbai: In a tragic incident on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai, three individuals, including two women, lost their lives, and six others sustained injuries as a speeding Toyota Innova collided with multiple vehicles. The devastating accident unfolded, leading to chaos and severe consequences.
The sequence of events started with the Toyota Innova colliding with a Mercedes Benz car approximately 100 meters before the toll booth at the north-bound lane’s Bandra end. Instead of stopping, the driver attempted to flee the scene, resulting in the acceleration of the vehicle towards the toll booth. As the Innova approached the toll booth, it collided with several other cars, causing injuries to nine individuals. Tragically, three of the injured victims succumbed to their injuries, adding to the severity of the incident.
Six injured individuals, including the driver of the Innova, are currently receiving medical treatment. Two of the injured victims are reported to be in serious condition, emphasizing the gravity of the collision.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Zone 9, Krishnakant Upadhyay, stated that a case is being registered against the driver of the Toyota Innova based on preliminary information.
