Kottayam: A busy road in Kerala turned into an unusual scene after a man allegedly parked his car in the middle of the Ettumanoor-Athirampuzha road and apparently fell asleep inside it, leaving motorists struggling to pass.
Car in middle of road leaves locals puzzled
The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday evening near a church ground. According to a video shared on X by InTheLoop, the parked vehicle soon attracted the attention of local residents.
Several people gathered around the car and tried to wake the driver. Some called out to him through the windows, while others appeared to push and pull the vehicle in an attempt to get his attention.
With the man seemingly unresponsive, locals initially feared that he could have been unconscious or facing a medical emergency.
Police reportedly find driver asleep
According to the caption accompanying the video, Ettumanoor police arrived at the scene and checked on the driver. The post claimed that the man had consumed alcohol and fallen asleep inside the vehicle.
The driver and car were subsequently taken into custody, according to the same account. The incident reportedly caused a major traffic disruption as vehicles had difficulty navigating around the car.
