A tragic incident was reported at Barh railway station under the Danapur division of East Central Railway, where a man lost his life after being hit by the incoming Patna–Howrah Vande Bharat Express.
🚆 Incident occurred during train arrival
According to Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials, the accident took place around 9 am on platform number 2. The victim reportedly moved close to the platform edge to spit after chewing tobacco at the moment the semi-high-speed train was arriving.
The train struck him, causing severe head injuries and knocking him onto the platform.
🏥 Victim succumbed during treatment
RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel rushed to the spot immediately and shifted the injured man to Barh Sadar Hospital.
Despite efforts to save him, the victim succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His identity had not been established at the time of reporting.
⚖️ Case registered, probe underway
Authorities have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated further investigation. The body has been sent for postmortem examination.

Railway officials have urged passengers to maintain a safe distance from the platform edge, especially during the arrival and departure of high-speed and semi-high-speed trains like Vande Bharat.
