One Town police in Vizianagaram have arrested a man for allegedly attempting to record a woman while she was bathing and later attacking her husband. The incident occurred in Vizianagaram town, where the woman spotted the accused, Gouri Shankar — a local resident — trying to secretly film her.
Upon noticing him, she raised an alarm, causing Shankar to flee. She immediately informed her husband, who later confronted the accused and took possession of his mobile phone.
In retaliation, Gouri Shankar allegedly assaulted the husband and forcefully snatched the phone back. A formal complaint was lodged at the One Town police station.
Circle Inspector S Srinivas confirmed that a case was registered and an investigation was initiated. The accused, who had gone into hiding after the assault, was arrested on July 7. Police have also recovered the mobile phone used in the incident.
Gouri Shankar was produced in court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
