Navi Mumbai: Police have arrested two men for allegedly murdering a 37-year-old Panvel resident following a dispute near Kalamboli Circle. Dispute near steel market turns fatal
According to senior police inspector Avinash Kaldate, the body of Ratneshkumar Rajkumar Jaiswal was discovered in the early hours of Monday near Kalamboli Circle. Initial inputs suggested that two individuals had assaulted Jaiswal and arrived at the spot on a scooter. Investigators immediately began tracking the vehicle. CCTV footage from the vicinity and technical data helped police identify the suspects and trace their movements. By Tuesday, the accused—Mohammad Chand Shabbir Shaikh, 25, an employee of a private firm, and Juef Jamil Ilias Shaikh, 25, a meat seller—were taken into custody.
Altercation with transgender group escalates
During interrogation, the duo revealed that they had been involved in a quarrel with a group of transgender persons at the Kalamboli Steel Market service road shortly before the incident. Police said the dispute appeared to be unrelated to the victim. At that moment, Jaiswal and his friend reportedly arrived to defuse the situation. However, the intervention allegedly angered the accused, leading to a violent assault on Jaiswal. The attack proved fatal, police confirmed. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the assault.
