A man was shot dead in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida on Tuesday in an incident linked to an alleged old rivalry, police said.
The crime took place within the jurisdiction of Ecotech-I Police Station. The victim, identified as Nitin, a resident of Luksar and son of Phire, was allegedly attacked by Sachin and his associates.
CCTV captures chilling sequence
According to police sources, CCTV footage from the area purportedly shows several men dragging Nitin to the ground before firing multiple rounds at him. A woman is seen stepping out of a nearby house during the incident, while one of the accused appears to threaten the victim with a firearm.
Nitin sustained grievous injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead during treatment.
Suspects detained, probe intensifies
Senior police officials, along with a forensic team, reached the spot soon after receiving information and examined the crime scene.
Based on a complaint filed by the informant, an FIR has been registered. Police stated that two suspects have been taken into custody following analysis of CCTV footage and subsequent raids. Multiple teams have been formed to trace and apprehend the remaining accused.
Officials maintained that the law and order situation in the area is under control and assured that strict legal action will be taken against those involved.
The incident has raised concerns over rising violence linked to personal enmity in urban areas.
