New Delhi: Union Housing & Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar laid out the Modi government’s roadmap for ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, highlighting notable advancements over the past 11 years in infrastructure, economy, and power.
Addressing a press conference, Khattar stated, “We’ve completed 11 years of governance under PM Modi. With 22 years remaining until 2047, we are determined to accelerate our development pace and elevate India’s global standing.” He emphasized that economic expansion, industrial growth, improved quality of life, and a robust energy sector are pivotal to this mission.
To commemorate the 11-year milestone of the Modi government, an e-book was launched, summarizing its achievements across sectors. The document noted that progress has been inclusive, forward-looking, and sustainable, driven by ‘Vikasvaad’ or development-centric politics, now central to national policy and discourse.
Khattar shared a remarkable rise in the power sector, saying, “Peak electricity demand, which stood at 130 GW in 2013-14, has almost doubled to 250 GW in 2024-25, and is expected to reach 270 GW by 2025-26.”
In response to rising temperatures nationwide, Khattar introduced a new climate control regulation: “Air conditioners will soon have standardized temperature settings between 20°C and 28°C. Cooling below or heating above these thresholds will not be permitted. This is an innovative move to promote energy efficiency.”
This policy aligns with the government’s broader focus on sustainability and smart living as part of India’s transformation journey.
