A 35-year-old mason lost his life following a quarrel with his cousin over garbage dumping at Singareni Huts in Saidabad on Sunday night, police said. The incident has shocked residents of the hutment area and raised concerns over how minor disputes can turn fatal.
Argument escalated into fatal incident
According to police, the victim, Nenawat Raghu, objected after his cousin, Nenawat Ramesh, allegedly dumped garbage in front of his hut. What began as a verbal argument soon escalated into a heated exchange.
During the quarrel, Ramesh allegedly pushed Raghu, causing him to fall to the ground and suffer serious internal head injuries. Raghu reportedly lost consciousness immediately after the fall.
Declared dead at hospital
Raghu’s wife, Nenawat Geeta, rushed him to a nearby private hospital for emergency treatment. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival, police officials said.
The sudden death left family members and neighbours in deep shock.
Body shifted for post-mortem
Initially, the family took Raghu’s body to their native place in Devarakonda to perform last rites. However, following police intervention, the body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital on Monday afternoon for a post-mortem examination at around 3.30 pm.
Case registered, investigation underway
Saidabad police have registered a case of culpable homicide under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have launched an investigation to establish the exact sequence of events.
Officials said statements from family members and local residents are being recorded as part of the probe.
Family left devastated
Raghu is survived by his 10-year-old son, Nenawat Abhiram, and his seven-year-old daughter, Nenawat Aditi. Relatives said he was the sole breadwinner of the family, working as a mason to support his wife and children.
Police urged residents to resolve disputes amicably and avoid physical confrontations, warning that even minor altercations can have tragic consequences.
