About fifteen engines have been deployed as part of the current operation to put out the fire. Officials estimated that it would take over four hours to extinguish the fire.

The blast broke the windows of the surrounding houses. A car dealership is among the two additional buildings where the fire has spread.

“We are waiting for more people to be rescued. The workers on the day shift were inside the factory when the explosion occurred. It is unknown how many people are stuck inside,” Dr Nikhil Patil said.
