A major fire broke out at a food processing facility located in Nerle, along the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway 48 in Sangli district, on Thursday morning around 6:00 AM. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and it took six fire tenders and two hours of intense effort to bring the blaze under control.

The facility, known for producing export-quality processed and canned food, including pulps, candies, brines, and sauces, suffered extensive damage. According to company officials, the fire destroyed much of the recently refurbished and modernized infrastructure.

The fire was so intense that it caused significant air quality issues, with commuters and locals facing difficulty breathing due to the smoke. The total loss from the incident is expected to be in the crores, highlighting the scale of the devastation. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the cause and extent of the damage.
