Pilgrims visiting Kedarnath temple captured the natural spectacle on their mobile phones around 5 a.m. A significant cloud of snow cascaded down swiftly, halting after descending into a deep ravine. The avalanche originated in the upper reaches of Gandhi Sarovar, within the Chorabari glacier beneath the snow-clad Meru-Sumeru mountain range at the upper end of Kedarnath valley.

Nandan Singh Rajwar, Rudraprayag District Disaster Management Officer, assured that there were no injuries or property losses. He affirmed the safety of the entire area, including Kedarnath valley.
