New Delhi: Nepal Aviation Minister has confirmed that wreckage of the missing plane has been found and that all 23 passengers have died in the crash.
Aviation Minister Ananda Prasad Pokhrel hs said that the plane was found crashed at a jungle in Kekarko Butta in the district and the same has been completely destroyed by fire upon crash.
The plane had taken off from Pokhara in Nepal on an 18 minute flight, but lost contact on take off.
Lepsang Lama, Rewati Baral, Dolma Tsering Sherpa, Ralrashed Ahamad Aa (Kuwait national), Bal Krishna Niure, Mukti Nath Bastola, Binita Bhattachan, Krishna Lal Bhattachan, Moti Bahadur KC, Raj Kumar Tamang, Kamala Thakali, Kancha Pariyar, Dil Kumari Gauchan, Devi Jung Gurung, Fhenjock Gurung, Laxmi Hirachan, Pabitra KC, Mak Siu Wing (Chinese national), Roshan Manandhar (pilot), Bikesh Nempung (co-pilot), Rama Raut (air hostess) were on board the ill-fated plane.
The identities of two children are yet to be ascertained.
A Nepal Army chopper has been dispatched to carry out search operation.
The Twin Otter aircraft was operated by Tara airlines in Nepal. “It is also known that weather at both origin and destination airports was favourable and the airport was cleared for departure by the control tower at Pokhara,” Tara Air Pvt. Ltd in a statement said.
