New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday cautioned NDA MPs against falling for rumors about ministries and portfolios, warning that the ‘I.N.D.I. Alliance’ might spread false information on these topics.
Speaking at an NDA Parliamentary Party meeting, PM Modi dismissed recent TV reports as baseless. He questioned their sources, saying, “There’s no truth to what’s being broadcast. Where do they get this information? Such excitement is expected since there hasn’t been such an occasion in the last 10 years. Some people might approach you, claiming they have high connections and can make you a minister… We might fall for it, thinking it’s a path to a ministerial position.”
He highlighted how advanced technology could even produce fake lists of ministers with his signature. “Some clever individuals might also distribute portfolios. Many are busy these days forming governments and assigning ministries and posts. I urge you to verify any claims through proper authorities if you receive such calls,” he said.
PM Modi pointed out that an entire army of people engages in spreading such rumors, whether for habit, entertainment, or malicious intent. “I urge all MPs not to fall prey to these conspiracies,” he urged.
He accused the ‘INDI Alliance’ of mastering the art of spreading fake news during the Lok Sabha elections, claiming they have a “double PhD in it.” He warned MPs to avoid rumors and remain cautious of these tactics.
PM Modi also acknowledged the experience and sound advice from senior leaders present at the meeting, assuring that the team would make the right decisions jointly. “Rest assured, the country will not be governed by breaking news,” he concluded.
