A viral video alleged that paper plates made from diagnostic reports of patients were being used at a hospital in Mumbai. The plates reportedly displayed the hospital’s name, patient names, and other medical details, as shown in footage from King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital.
Former Mumbai mayor and leader of Uddhav Thackeray’s party, Kishori Pednekar, shared the video on X and criticized the Municipal Corporation, urging administration to intervene, saying, “What is going on?? Administration wake up…! Don’t be so reckless.”

However, there were also positive reactions. A social media user noted that repurposing such documents after they are no longer needed was a commendable initiative.
The hospital’s dean later clarified that the plates were not made from patient reports. Instead, they were crafted using old folders of CT scans, according to Dean Dr. Sangeeta Rawat.
