A Mumbai-based woman has taken to social media to praise Blinkit for its ambulance service, describing it as fast, seamless and completely free during a moment of family crisis.
In a now-viral post shared on Instagram, user Prachi recounted how the service helped her family during a medical emergency involving her aunt, reshaping her perception of emergency healthcare access in cities.
‘Felt helpless being in another city’
Prachi said she received a distressing call around 4 am from her family in Delhi, informing her that her aunt, who lives with them, had suffered a seizure. With cab services failing to arrive despite repeated attempts, panic quickly set in.
“I was completely anxious. They had booked a cab which was supposed to come in 15 minutes, but it never arrived,” she said.
Recalling a previous conversation, Prachi’s husband suggested trying Blinkit’s ambulance service. Though prepared to pay any amount, she was surprised to find the service was free and easy to book, with no unnecessary questions.
‘An ambulance arrived when we needed it most’
Prachi noted that the app carried a clear advisory asking users to book the ambulance only in genuine emergencies. “I honestly wouldn’t have minded paying, because when a family member needs help, you just want someone to show up,” she said.
Within minutes of booking, the ambulance arrived at her family’s doorstep.
Reflecting on past experiences, she recalled how arranging ambulances earlier often involved inflated charges, unanswered calls or long delays. “In moments like that, you feel completely helpless,” she said.
Raising awareness about the service
The experience, she added, made her realise how many people remain unaware of the facility. Several colleagues and friends, she said, were surprised to learn that Blinkit even offered an ambulance service.
“I couldn’t be there physically, but I felt I could still help my family,” she wrote, thanking the company for thinking beyond deliveries.
Her post has since drawn widespread appreciation online, with many users calling the initiative a meaningful step towards accessible emergency support.
