A one-year-old girl died after accidentally falling into a bucket of water while playing at her home in Kavangarai near Puzhal on Monday.
The child was reportedly playing at the house when the incident occurred. She fell into the water-filled bucket and was found shortly afterwards.
The girl was identified as Yogamaya, daughter of autorickshaw driver Hari Prakash and his wife Sumithra, residents of Kannappasamy Nagar.
Police begin investigation
Following the incident, police registered a case and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
