Bhubaneswar : On Tuesday, a baby became stuck in a borewell close to Laripali village in the Sambalpur district of Odisha.
According to the local sources, on Tuesday at around 1:30 p.m., a woman walking by a cashew nut forest heard an infant’s cries. She alerted the police and fire service officials and called the villagers who had arrived at the scene right away.
The residents believe that the newborn was thrown into the 15-foot-deep borewell by someone who then left the area and covered the borewell’s face with a stone.
The district administration immediately launched an operation to save the baby after learning of it. At the scene are a group of medical professionals as well as other officials. The rescue operation has involved three JCB machines.
The child is still alive, as far as we can tell, and we are working to save him. The borewell is supplied with oxygen. There’s the sound of the baby crying. A doctor stated, “We are prepared with all the emergency medications and waiting for the baby, who is one or two days old, to be rescued.
