In a recent cyber incident, Zee News’ Bihar-Jharkhand regional channel was reportedly compromised by hackers from Pakistan and Bangladesh, upset with the network’s nationalist reporting following Operation Sindoor. The breach impacted the live television feed, though Zee News continues streaming uninterrupted via its official YouTube channel.

Cybersecurity expert Pawan Duggal weighed in on the development, stating the attack appears to be an act of digital retaliation aimed at diverting attention, but emphasized it was largely ineffective. He added that Pakistan gains nothing substantial from this unsuccessful cyber move.

Attempts were also made to breach Zee News’ main national broadcast, but security measures successfully thwarted the intrusion, according to internal sources. The incident is being viewed as a targeted response to the channel’s coverage of India’s defense operations, which have been openly critical of Pakistan’s actions.

Notably, Pakistan had previously banned Zee News broadcasts within its territory during the height of Operation Sindoor, reflecting growing diplomatic and media-related tensions between the two nations.

Amid internal instability and deteriorating socio-political conditions, Pakistan appears to be resorting to cyber warfare, attacking media institutions that challenge its global narrative. Zee News, known for its assertive reporting on national security and geopolitics, remains a frequent target of such hostility.

Despite the attempted disruption, Zee News has assured viewers that broadcasts remain unaffected across digital platforms and necessary countermeasures are in place.
