In an age where scams are increasingly woven into everyday moments, a content creator’s personal experience has sparked a fresh conversation on the need for constant caution — even during something as ordinary as enjoying street food.
A simple outing takes an unsettling turn
A woman, who shared her experience on Instagram under the handle raw__rants, recalled how she narrowly avoided a potentially serious situation while eating pani puri with her brother at a roadside stall.
According to her account, two young girls approached them and said, “Didi, mujhe bhi khila do”, before picking up pani puris from her plate and eating them without waiting for a response.
A dramatic scene unfolds
Moments later, one of the girls allegedly began acting dizzy and collapsed on the road, while the other started shouting that the woman had fed her something. The sudden drama attracted attention from passersby, leaving the woman shaken and unsure of how to react.
She said the situation did not escalate further only because they were close to home and people in the area recognised them. Reflecting on the incident, she said that had it happened elsewhere, the consequences could have been far more serious.
Suspected scam raises concern
In her video, the creator suggested that the incident appeared to be a staged attempt at extortion or harassment. “This is unbelievable — kya kya scam chal rahe hai,” she remarked, warning others to stay alert in public spaces.
Strong reactions online
The video drew strong reactions from viewers, many of whom expressed anger and concern. While some urged people to be cautious before offering help to strangers, others stressed the importance of distinguishing genuine need from manipulation.
A reminder for everyday vigilance
The episode has struck a chord because of its relatability. It serves as a reminder that while compassion matters, awareness and caution are equally important — especially in public spaces where situations can quickly spiral out of control.
