Lakhisarai: A video purportedly from Bihar, depicting a group of passengers pushing a train to propel it along the tracks, has gone viral on social media platforms. Accompanied by the caption “Bihar is not for beginners,” the footage has been widely circulated online.
The incident allegedly occurred at Kiul Junction station in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district. According to reports, a minor fire erupted in the Patna-Jasidih Memu train while stationed at Kiul station. Passengers reportedly took matters into their own hands, pushing the train to separate the coaches and prevent the fire from spreading.
Railway officials have confirmed that the fire incident transpired on Thursday. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the fire was promptly extinguished.
In a statement issued by the East Central Railway (ECR) Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, it was revealed that passengers noticed smoke emanating from one of the coaches upon the train’s arrival from Patna at approximately 5:24 pm. Firefighters swiftly extinguished the blaze, and normal train operations resumed by 7:45 pm.
A thorough investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, as confirmed by railway authorities.
