New Delhi : Rahul Gandhi, the former president of the Congress, declared that the ideological war will go on and acknowledged the people’s decision in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh on Sunday.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Telangana people for granting the party a mandate and assured them that it will uphold the “Prajalu Telangana” vow.

Rahul Gandhi, who actively campaigned in every state that would host elections, stated in a Hindi post on X that “we humbly accept the mandate of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan — the battle of ideology will continue.”

“I am very thankful to the people of Telangana — we will definitely fulfill the promise of making Prajalu Telangana,” declared the Congress leader. Sincere gratitude to every employee for their dedication and help.”

His comments followed the Congress’s victories in Telangana and losses in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

Since August 25 of this year, Rahul Gandhi has spoken at 64 open forums and road shows in these four states that are about to hold elections.

“The people of Telangana have created history and given the Congress Party the mandate,” stated Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in a post on X. The people of Telangana have won this. This is the triumph of the state’s citizens and each and every Congress Party employee.”

She also expressed her gratitude to Telanganians.

“Congress is committed to peace, prosperity and progress in Telangana,” she stated.

“The people of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan have designated the Congress Party as the opposition. With humility, we embrace the people’s mandate,” she continued.

Jairam Ramesh, general secretary of the Congress, added that although the party had achieved comparable results in 2003, it had recovered in the 2004 general elections to become the single largest party and become the government.

Ramesh wrote on X, stating that exactly twenty years prior, the Indian National Congress had only won Delhi and had lost the state elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. But the party recovered in a matter of months, emerged from the Lok Sabha elections as the only major party, and went on to create the central government.”

The remarks came after the BJP was leading on 115 seats in the 200-member assembly while the Congress was leading on 69 seats in Rajasthan.

In Chhattisgarh, the BJP was leading on 55 and the Congress was leading on 35 seats and in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress was leading on 63 seats while the ruling BJP was leading on 166 seats.

The Congress had announced several guarantees in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The party was eyeing a second consecutive term in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh but it failed to get the majority.
